Our Family Day at Epic Universe
A Magical Preview Adventure (May 18, 2025) 🎢✨
Hey everyone, we are back with another fun family recap! This time, we are sharing our epic (pun intended) first visit to Universal’s Epic Universe on May 18, 2025. It was a special preview day before the official opening on May 22. As annual pass members, we scored free parking and dove right into the magic. It was a hot Florida day, but we came prepared in our swimsuits for all the splashy fun. With our girls in tow, it was the perfect mix of thrills, playtime, and family memories!
Here is the stunning entrance to Epic Universe, crowds were buzzing with excitement!

Morning Fuel & Smooth Arrival ☕
We kicked off the day with a quick stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee and snacks. Ended up just grabbing the coffees (priorities!), then headed straight to the park. Security was super fast, and no parking fees thanks to our annual passes, huge win! We arrived around noon and jumped right in!
First Stop: Islands of Berk – Water Ride Fun! 🐉💦
We headed to Islands of Berk (How to Train Your Dragon land) first! It was perfect for our girls since it’s one of the few areas with kid-friendly rides. The water ride had a long wait, and of course, potty breaks one at a time delayed us a bit 😂. But once we boarded, it was SO MUCH FUN! Every row has a compartment to stash your stuff so nothing gets soaked, genius!
Loving the splashy action on the water ride:

Afterward, the girls played in the Viking Training Camp play area while we took turns riding the attractions. Ana usually held the line, then Travis got a Rider Switch pass to skip ahead. He accidentally tossed his first receipt—oops!—but the team was awesome and still let him ride. Crisis averted! 😂

Lunch & Splitting Up for More Thrills 🍔
We grabbed some delicious food, creamy mac and cheese and those yummy bread things (still not sure what the are called, but so good!). Then we split: Ana hit Stardust Racers (what a rush!), while Travis explored Super Nintendo World with the girls.

We reunited in Super Nintendo World, it was brutally hot by then! We rode Yoshi’s Adventure (another great one for the kids), but the waits for Mario Kart and Donkey Kong were too long, and Donkey Kong was closed that day anyway.
Yoshi ride fun for the whole family:

Beating the Heat & More Adventures 🌊🔥
With the heat cranking up, while Travis rode more attractions, the girls and I cooled off at the water play area with sprinklers, it felt AMAZING!
Cooling off in the splash zone, pure bliss on a hot day: (need to add pic)
Ana tried for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, but the line was endless and it kept closing, so we moved on to the Dark Universe (the original monsters land). We rode one ride (the werewolf one was closed), then Travis squeezed in the ride just before closing.

As the park closed, we strolled through the Harry Potter area, grabbed some delicious fudge, and soaked in the magic one last time.
Sweet treats to end the day:
What an incredible preview day at Epic Universe! We had so much fun exploring, splashing, and making memories with the girls. We cannot wait to go back and conquer all the rides we missed, it is going to be even more epic! Hint: November 2026 here we come!
